I last stayed at Sudeley Castle Cottages approx 30 years ago and always wanted to return, loving the Cotswolds in general and history in particular.Winchcombe is such a pretty little town, with lots of pubs, shops, and restaurants and with the castle literally on your doorstep, it really was an easy choice to make.We stayed at George III, a small but perfectly formed little cottage. There were just the two of us, but being work colleagues ,we preferred the option of a bedroom each, but without a hotel price tag, and a home from home environment. It was perfect, with everything that you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. Lovely and clean and cosy with added extras like tea, coffee, biscuits, mints, toiletries, and dog blankets. The beds were super comfortable and there were plenty of toiletries and quality white fluffy towels. The table and chairs on the outside decking area was a nice touch and it was lovely and peaceful sitting there with a morning cuppa listening to the birds and watching the sheep strolling up to the fence. A public walkway was seconds from the front door that took you to the Sudeley Castle estate within minutes, and the complimentary entry was a bonus. We would definitely revisit.
