To celebrate its most exciting year yet, Sudeley Castle and Gardens, is offering visitors a whole month more of adventure, history and family fun by launching the 2020 season this Monday, February 10.
Save 20% when visiting before 30 March
The popular attraction usually opens its doors in March, but with a calendar packed full of events already planned right up until the festive season, Sudeley is kicking off with a massive 20% discount of all advance tickets booked online, alongside a special 2-4-1 offer on the Castle Kitchen menu, until Friday, February 14.
With light bites such as homemade soup and quiche lorraine, and bigger plates including Sudeley longhorn burger and roasted tomato, basil and Mediterranean vegetable spaghetti all on the seasonal menu, visitors are in for a real treat before they walk off lunch wandering through the magical gardens, spotting snowdrops, daffodils and signs of spring and new life.
From murder mysteries, secret spy trails and circus school to chick hunts, garden fairs, fashion exhibitions and archaeological dig, Tudors and food, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this year at Sudeley. Not forgetting the anticipated return of the Spectacle of Light 2020 and ever-popular school holiday activities and summer Knight School.
Few castles have seen as much war, romance and royalty as Sudeley and many treasures from its 1,000-year-long history are available to explore in year-round exhibitions housed in the original 15th century west wing of the former royal residence.
Modern-day visitors can walk in the footsteps of some of history’s most notable characters, including Richard III, Henry VIII and Katherine Parr, absorbing the history and beauty of the east wing rooms, which are still in use by Lady Ashcombe and her family today.
Kim Gibbon, Head of Visitor Services said: “We are so looking forward to welcoming new and returning visitors to Sudeley Castle and Gardens, and have carefully planned a programme of events that everyone, from families to history lovers, will enjoy.
“As always, we have been busy behind the scenes during the closure period, spring cleaning the castle and preparing our treasured gardens for the arrival of spring, which truly is a stunning time at Sudeley.
“Alongside the annual favourites, new events for 2020 include a Murder Mystery dinner, spring half term Circus School, the Festival of Tudor Life, a fashion exhibition and The Great British Food Festival.”
