Supporting Heritage
Britain is known all across the world for its stately homes and gardens. But did you know that most are independently owned?
Sudeley's chatelaine, Elizabeth, Lady Ashcombe was one of the founding members of the Historic Houses Association since she inherited Sudeley in tragic circumstances in 1972. At that time many country houses, not dissimilar to Sudeley Castle had been lost in the previous three decades. She credits her decision to join Historic Houses as crucial to the castle's resilience.
