As darkness descends over Sudeley Castle on Halloween night, you're invited to step back in time to Victorian England for an unforgettable evening of intrigue and deception played out within the Castle and grounds.

A shocking murder has been committed, and the killer remains at large. Guests will follow clues through the atmospheric gardens, historic rooms, hidden corridors and the Chapel, where Queen Katherine Parr lies entombed. 

Along the way, you'll encounter suspicious Victorian characters, uncover long-buried secrets and piece together the evidence in a race to identify the culprit and solve the crime.

Once the investigation is complete, guests gather for victuals in the Castle Coach House, a final opportunity to compare theories, question the suspects one last time and decide who you believe is guilty before the dramatic reveal.

By purchasing a ticket for After Dark at Sudeley Castle: A Victorian Murder Mystery, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Age Restriction

  • This event is strictly for guests aged 18 years and over. Proof of age may be requested upon entry.

Accessibility

  • Due to the historic nature of Sudeley Castle and the immersive format of the event, this experience is not suitable for wheelchair users.
  • Guests should be aware that the event includes walking throughout the castle grounds, historic rooms, corridors and chapel.

Lighting Conditions

  • The event takes place after dark. Many areas will have low-level or atmospheric lighting to enhance the experience.
  • Guests should take extra care when moving around the site.

Uneven Terrain

  • The route includes uneven paths, steps, cobbled surfaces and historic flooring. Appropriate footwear is strongly recommended.
  • Guests attend at their own risk and should take reasonable care throughout the event.

Health & Safety

  • Guests must follow all instructions given by event staff and performers.
  • Anyone behaving in a manner that endangers themselves, other guests or staff may be asked to leave without a refund.

Food & Drink

  • A themed cocktail and 3-course bowl food are included in the ticket price.
  • Dietary requirements should be advised at the time of booking by emailing enquiries@sudeley.org.uk. While every effort will be made to accommodate allergies and dietary needs, this cannot be guaranteed.

Photography

  • Photography is permitted for personal use unless otherwise advised. No flash photography during performances to preserve the immersive experience.

Weather

  • Parts of the event take place outdoors. Please dress appropriately for the weather, as the event will proceed in most conditions unless deemed unsafe by the organisers.
  • Dressing up in Victorian clothing is allowed. 

Ticket Policy

  • Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organiser.
  • Tickets may not be resold for commercial gain without prior permission.
