The Pavilion café
Welcome to the Pavilion café, based at the castle entrance/exit, this is our main eatery serving homemade customer favourites such as quiches, sausage rolls, soup and sandwiches working with suppliers from the local area.
Opening hours: 9.30am - 4:30pm
Food served from 9.30am, drinks served 9.30am-4.30pm
No ticket necessary. Dogs are allowed in the café but please note only assistance dogs are allowed in the castle and grounds, no pets. The Pavilion can adapt to most allergies (if complex we are happy to discuss ahead of your visit) and serves a selection of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free items daily.
The Shepherd's Hut
Take a break at our Shepherd's Hut serving delicious sandwiches and cakes, plus tea, coffee and cold drinks, daily.
Located in a sheltered spot beneath the terrace with outdoor seating available, the Shepherd's Hut offers a castle backdrop and a perfect pitspot to refuel before enjoying the castle interior, exhibitions and gardens.
Due to the Shepherd's Hut's size it is not an allergy-friendly offering but does offer vegan alternative milks for drinks.
Picnics
If you prefer to bring your own provisions, dedicated picnic spots are marked around the grounds.
